Here Comes the Condom Commando!
At the end of 2008, more than 63,000 HIV-infected persons were living in Germany, with 51,800 men, 11,700 women, and 200 children making up that figure. New studies appear to indicate a decline in the use of condoms.
With the goal of raising more awareness about this topic and stressing the importance of using condoms, Zink & Kraemer developed the “Condom Commando” campaign as part of a sponsor project: an extensive packet of giveaways and information that AIDS-Hilfe Trier volunteers will take on the road, especially to pubs, clubs, and events.
For its on-site awareness promotion activities, the Condom Commando will wear uniform jackets, baseball caps, and an attention-grabbing vendor’s tray, along with postcards and buttons with thought-provoking sayings as eyecatchers. Together with the intentionally provocative name and look, the goal of the Condom Commando is to make sure that the subject of AIDS gets the attention it deserves.
